Ever wondered how the founders of SVSLearn got their start as artists? Well, it definitely wasn’t easy! And, they didn’t all necessarily take the conventional route to get there. Read MoreThis class was great, and not nearly as discouraging as I expected (hearing from all these successful people, you think oh they must be deities to have gotten where they are, right? WRONG!) actually it was encouraging! These are details you can't get anywhere else unless you personally know a famous artist and can get them to chat with you for hours. Jake's career timeline was awesome, I might record what I've done so that someday I can make one of those! Lee White's story was delightfully entertaining, and Will has a way with words that make it easy to listen to his struggles.

Read MoreThis is the first video that I've watched here and I think it was a great intro to the entire website-- I thoroughly enjoyed hearing each artist's journey to today. I'm still figuring things out here on SVS, but I was originally brought here by Will Terry's YouTube channel. I myself went to the Art Institute of San Diego just last week to do the walk through with the enrollment staff, and walked away feeling lost as I cannot justify the $100,000 tuition, let alone pay $140/month to attend as I don't have a job right now. So-- I was stuck in the realm of "do I go to art school? find online courses? just continue to self teach?" (I got great answers regarding those questions from Will's channel, and now I'm here!) -- I don't feel as anxious about any of that today. I'm just gonna art. Art has been my passion since toddler-ism and for a few years during teenagehood, I lost sight of that--- but these three stories restore faith in the fact that I can get "there", (wherever "there" may be) someday. This coming July marks my one year of REALLY actively trying (committing to drawing every day, and now taking online courses) to strive for an art career and I couldn't be more excited for the horrible and awesome art that I have yet to "get out". Thanks for sharing, all!
